01 Dec ESSC: The Odyssey of the Insatiable Minds
The Odyssey of the Insatiable Minds is an international collaboration of both written and visual expression. The book is a collection of award-winning short stories gathered between 2006 and 2011 written in exactly 50 words. The Extremely Short Story Competition (ESSC) was originated by Professor Peter Hassall of Zayed University (UAE) and administered by the Japanese Association for Asian Englishes (JAFAE). Professor Nobuyuki Honna of Aoyama Gakuin University, President of the JAFAE, imported the idea to Japan. This unique collection of short stories from Japan is matched with narrative collages created by design students at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates. Led by Graphic Design Professor Denielle Emans, the Emirati students’ design work complements the 50-word short stories.
