Motion Design

As we launch into motion design this week, it’s time to look at some examples that cover our various group topics. Here is a collection of motion design videos that focus on a variety of global issues, from water to war. Consider our discussions in class and think about what techniques are being implemented to convey the message.

What facts, information, sounds, and images will you need to get started? The movie can be composed of documentation footage, still images, sounds, charts/graphics, kinetic typography, illustrations, photography, movie clips, and more.

An inspiring 2009 television commercial from CARE Australia that focuses on the potential of women in developing countries to make positive change in their world when given the opportunity.

For the millions of them forced to walk 6km every day to fetch water and for the million of children who miss an education and a future as a result of the water crisis.

Tug Of War – The Impossible Brief by Francesco Basile: it’s the only fight in the world that leads to a truce.

Nika Water presents the “Water Crisis”. This video represents the current problem facing millions of people around the world who suffer from lack of clean water and sanitation and are killed from water related diseases. Nika hopes to bring a voice to those who suffer by raising awareness and donating 100% of proceeds to communities in need.

For those of you still getting use to the tools, you don’t have to trick out your video to have impact. This is a simple example of basic effects and audio to communicate the idea of “legacy.”
