I’m having a wonderful time home in Michigan this week with friends and family. We’ve explored some new places and mourned the loss of others. Thankfully, I’ve seen some fantastic and creative projects to help grow the struggling economy. One project called “Let’s Save Michigan” aims to redevelop Michigan cities to “attract and retain today’s highly mobile, highly skilled workers.”

The campaign provides people with a wide range of opportunities to make a difference, big and small. The 2010 poster contest was one such opportunity that brought creatives together to make a difference using design. With over 300 poster submissions and more than 20,000 votes, the project showed some outstanding community involvement and passion for making a difference.
