Jason Bishop has created a (depressingly) informative infographic for the NRDC that explains the affects of the Gulf Coast oil spill on marine life and the ocean. It is amazingly affective in explaining the “depth” of the problem (pun somewhat intended). Make sure you scroll down the page when you check out the full infographic.

“It appears that only a fraction of the millions of gallons of crude oil that have flooded into the Gulf of Mexico rises to the surface. A lot of the oil remains dissolved or dispersed in the Gulf’s waters, contaminating one of the most productive marine ecosystems in the world. Go below the surface of the Gulf oil disaster, hover on the blue bars to dive into the Gulf and hover over the (?) to learn more.”
